Uppt\u00e4cka Network was formed in 2006 by Chris Lorensson and the other Uppt\u00e4cka Network authors; the goal being to supply the platform for unorthodox thoughts on Christian spirituality,<\/em> with formal publishing of these works being the long-term goal. Uppt\u00e4cka Press was formed in Bristol, England in 2010 and now operates from Fort Collins, Colorado.<\/p>\n

The Environment<\/h2>\n

Uppt\u00e4cka Press uses the Lulu platform for printing & distribution. Books are printed on-demand, so unsold stock is never pulped or landfilled. Lulu prints books in regional printing centers across the world; so if you’re in Rochester, NY, your copy will be printed in Rochester, NY. This lowers carbon pollution by shipping the shortest possible distances.<\/p>\n

Distribution<\/h2>\n

Our platform makes our digital and physical books available to all digital and physical vendors, but our main online store is at lulu.com<\/a>. All of our titles are available in both digital and physical formats, such as paperback and ebooks from many international vendors such as Amazon, iTunes and Kindle, and some large brick-and-mortar bookstores.<\/p>\n

Printing & distribution<\/h4>\r\nUppt\u00e4cka Press uses Lulu.com for printing and international orders of printed books. We also develop eBook versions of our books specifically for the Amazon Kindle and Apple iBooks stores and devices. eBooks are DRM<\/abbr>-free where possible. We are planning to also include audiobook versions of each of our titles, which will be available on iTunes and other platforms. Printed copies are available via Amazon for most countries across the globe, and Lulu.com.\r\n\r\n

The Environment<\/h4>\r\nUppt\u00e4cka Press is currently using the Lulu platform for printing. Lulu only prints a book if it's been ordered\u2013 meaning that we never have any unsold stock getting pulped or going to a landfill. Lulu prints books in regional<\/em> printing centres (for example: If you're in Rochester, NY, your copy will be printed in Rochester, NY), so there's less carbon to offset from shipping. Lulu's model is better for the environment. We also highly encourage our customers to purchase digital copies, and we endeavour to make each title available as an eBook for Kindle and iBooks, as well as audiobook versions.
